Fields of Mistria gives you plenty of freedom, but its major unlocks still depend on several connected progression systems. Advancing efficiently means balancing Town Renown, Adeline's repair projects, the Mines, and two important friendships.
This spoiler-light route starts on Spring 1, Year 1 and leads through every major milestone on the way to Renown 100. It does not assume that you will finish everything during Year 1. Treat the seasonal targets as flexible checkpoints rather than deadlines.
Version: This guide is being prepared for Fields of Mistria 1.0.2 and was last reviewed on August 13, 2026.
Spoiler policy: Progression requirements appear openly. Late-game story explanations and exact final-seal materials are placed inside clearly marked spoiler sections.
How progression works in Fields of Mistria
Progress happens along four connected tracks:
Town Renown: Ship goods, donate to the Museum, and complete quests to raise Mistria's rank.
Town repairs: Complete Adeline's restoration projects to unlock buildings, shops, animals, and other systems.
The Mines:
Focusing on only one track creates avoidable progression walls. The best route alternates between all four.
Quick answer: What should you prioritize in Fields of Mistria?
The most reliable route is to advance Town Renown, town repairs, the Mines, and friendship at the same time. If you only want the essential progression order, follow these priorities:
Save 60 Wood and 60 Stone immediately.
Repair the Eastern Road bridge after its quest appears on Spring 3.
Donate the first copy of collectible items and ship most ordinary duplicates.
Complete The State of the Mines
Spring Year 1: Open the town and Mines
Days 1–3: Save your first construction materials
Your first major objective is repairing the Eastern Road bridge. It requires:
60 Wood
60 Stone
Avoid using those materials for fences or decorations before completing the bridge. The repair unlocks the Saturday Market and awards Renown.
Plant a manageable crop field instead of spending all your money on seeds. You also need time and stamina for gathering materials, fishing, meeting villagers, and completing early quests.
From Spring 3 onward, Caldarus lets you collect Essence and exchange it for skill perks. Check the dragon statue regularly rather than leaving Essence unused.
Build Renown without blocking future quests
Use this rule whenever you find something new:
Donate the first Museum-eligible copy.
Keep one copy if it looks unusual or difficult to replace.
Ship ordinary duplicates.
Reserve materials listed in an active repair or Mine quest.
Museum donations provide collection progress and Renown. Shipping provides money and Renown, while normal requests commonly award additional Renown.
Do not hoard every basic crop or forageable indefinitely. Shipping regularly is what moves the town toward Rank 10 and the opening of the Mines.
Spring 6: Unlock the Mines
On Spring 6, Eiland sends the The State of the Mines quest. Complete it, then raise Mistria to Town Rank 10 if you have not already done so. Meeting both requirements unlocks the Mine entrance.
The Mine elevator records progress every five floors. A productive Mine day does not need to clear an entire biome—reaching the next elevator is already permanent progress.
First Mine target: Floor 20
Floors 1–19 form the Upper Mines. Keep the following items for the floor-20 seal:
Stone Loach
Upper Mines Mushroom
Ruby
Lantern Moth
Finding these as you descend prevents a separate backtracking session.
Your initial tool priority should usually be:
Pickaxe
Watering Can
Sword or Fishing Rod
Other tools as needed
Do not spend every Copper or Iron Ingot on equipment. Several town repairs also require ingots.
Best early progression perks
For a Mines-focused route, prioritize perks that increase resources or improve floor quality:
Earth Breaker: Breaking a rock can destroy adjacent rocks.
Ore-riginal: Rocks can produce additional biome-specific ore.
Treasure Hunter: Allows Treasure Floors to appear.
For farming, stamina-saving perks such as Refreshing or Green Thumb make it easier to maintain crops while preserving time for the Mines.
These are route recommendations, not mandatory choices. Essence is renewable, and perks can be toggled at the appropriate dragon statue.
Begin two important friendships
Speak to Eiland and Juniper whenever your route takes you nearby. Give them gifts when convenient and trigger their heart events as they unlock.
The spoiler-light reason is simple: both relationships eventually become part of the main Mine progression. Ignoring them until floor 100 can create a lengthy friendship grind.
Important: You will eventually need eight hearts and the completed eight-heart event for both Eiland and Juniper.
Late Spring to Summer: Establish the repair chain
After repairing the bridge, Adeline's restoration quests unfold in sequence.
Project
Important requirements
Because a later quest needs eggs and cheese, establish animal production before that request appears. The Mill processes several animal products, so delaying it can slow multiple systems simultaneously.
Summer target: Reach floor 40
Floors 21–39 are the Tide Caverns. Save these four seal items:
Coral Mantis
Sapphire
Archerfish
Jade Dulse
Continue donating biome-specific fish, insects, forageables, artifacts, and materials to the Museum. Seasonal collections become much more frustrating if everything is shipped without checking whether it is still needed.
Floors 41–59 form the Deep Earth. The floor-60 storyline is more involved than the first two seals.
A related quest requires:
10 Rubies
10 Sapphires
10 Emeralds
10 Silver Ingots
You will also need the biome-specific seal items encountered during the questline. Do not sell all your gems or convert all Silver Ingots into equipment.
Fall is a good time to push Renown toward 50. At Renown 50, weekly Crown Requests begin appearing. These award more Renown than ordinary requests and become an important part of the Renown 100 route.
A practical weekly rhythm is:
Accept all available requests.
Spend dedicated days farming, gathering, or mining.
Complete NPC hand-ins during the Saturday Market, when many villagers are together.
Finish the current Crown Request before the next weekly reset.
Ship surplus crops and processed goods every evening.
Winter and beyond: Floors 80–100
The Lava Caves occupy floors 61–79. The fifth and final Mine biome begins after the floor-80 progression sequence.
Before pushing to floor 100:
Upgrade the pickaxe and combat equipment.
Carry stamina- and health-restoring food.
Activate every fifth-floor elevator.
Keep monster parts, rare gems, unusual forageables, and Mine creatures.
Reach eight hearts with
Reaching floor 100 without those friendship requirements will pause the main story.
Floor 100 material warning
Final-seal preparation spoilers
The final seal requires several crafted Dragon-Forged components. Their combined ingredients include rare monster materials, Void materials, Essence Stones, Mistril, Pink Diamonds, and creatures found in the final Mine biome.
Before publishing an exact checklist, verify every quantity directly in version 1.0.2. Until then, the safest advice is to keep:
Monster Fangs, Horns, Powders, and Cores
Void Powders, Pearls, Stones, and Herbs
Medium Essence Stones
Mistril Ingots
Pink Diamonds
Renown 50–100: Late town upgrades
Important late Renown milestones include:
Renown
Unlock
Stone Refinery
The Stone Refinery project requires:
200 Wood
400 Stone
20 Sap
5,000t
Saturday Market upgrade
The Saturday Market upgrade requires:
20 Crystal
8 Gold Ingots
100 Hard Wood
20 Obsidian
50 Refined Stone
Carpenter's Shop upgrade
The Carpenter's Shop upgrade requires:
30 Crystal
100 Glass
30 Obsidian
100 Refined Stone
These requirements explain why selling every piece of Wood, Stone, Crystal, Obsidian, or ore is inefficient. Maintain a dedicated construction chest.
Version 1.0 adds the Saturday Market Plaza and Bell Tower projects after these earlier upgrades. Their exact triggers and material lists should be added after direct verification in version 1.0.2.
Fastest reliable ways to earn Renown
Prioritize these sources:
Ship goods every day. Crops and easily produced items provide repeatable Renown.
Donate new discoveries. Museum contributions provide Renown and permanent collection progress.
Complete normal requests. Most award Renown in addition to their listed item or money reward.
The fastest route still needs to preserve rare or seasonal items required by the Museum, Mine seals, town repairs, and Crown Requests.

Returning-player checklist
You do not need to start a new save for version 1.0.
After loading an older save:
Allow retroactive achievements to populate.
Check the Renown chest for accumulated rewards.
Read new mail and inspect the Request Board.
Complete newly added Town Rank quests.
Visit the Saturday Market.
Fields of Mistria progression FAQ
What is the fastest way to raise Renown in Fields of Mistria?
Ship goods every day, donate each new Museum item, complete normal requests, and start weekly Crown Requests after Renown 50. Combining those repeatable sources is more reliable than depending on a single activity.
When do the Mines unlock?
Complete The State of the Mines after Spring 6 and reach Town Rank 10. Both requirements must be met before the Mine entrance opens.
Which Mine floors have story seals?
The major seals are on floors 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100. Activate the elevator every five floors so a failed run never costs more than one checkpoint.
Do you need eight hearts with Eiland and Juniper?
Yes. The late Mine storyline requires the eight-heart events for both Eiland and Juniper, so build those friendships before reaching the final biome.
Do you have to reach Renown 100 during Year 1?
No. This guide uses Year 1 seasons as flexible checkpoints, not deadlines. Progress carries forward, so prioritize permanent unlocks and continue toward Mistril rank at your own pace.
Final takeaway
The smoothest route through Fields of Mistria is not to rush only one system. Alternate between town repairs, Renown generation, Mine checkpoints, and Eiland and Juniper's friendships.
When the Mines slow down, work on repairs and Renown. When a repair needs higher-tier materials, return to the Mines. Keeping all four tracks moving prevents nearly every major progression wall on the road to Mistril Renown 100.
